Voyager PACS istalled in a major PACS site at Mater Private Hospital in Mackay

February 2007

Voyager PACS was recently installed in a major PACS site at Mater Private Hospital in Mackay, North Queensland, Australia. Voyager PACS has replaced an international brand PACS system at Mater Private Hospital in Mackay, with the system being implemented over one weekend, going live on the following Monday. The Voyager PACS configuration included PACS Archive, Web Server, Diagnostic Workstations (including Mammography reporting), Administration Stations, Document Scanning Stations, CD/DVD Burning stations, Dicom Modality Worklist, custom Desktop RIS integration and the recently released Voyager migration tool that has allowed the legacy data to be migrated as a background task. In addition to the improvements in functionality, workflow and ease of use of the system at this site, it forms part of the Queensland Xray Services (part of Sonic Healthcare) network, allowing radiologists to report either locally in Mackay or remotely from any of the other sites where a Voyager Radiologist workstation is connected to the network, utilizing Voyager PACS unique pre-emptive prefetching function over low, medium and high bandwidth connections.
